Dr. Kelly and Orthopaedics

 

Dr. Frank B. Kelly of Forsyth Street Orthopaedics served as Chair of the Annual Meeting of the Twentieth Century Orthopaedic Association, August 3 - 7. The meeting was attended by over 200 members and guests and was held at the Teton Springs Lodge in Victor, Idaho. The Association was founded in 1947 and its membership includes over 114 orthopaedic surgeons in the US and Canada. Dr. Kelly has served as Chairman of the organization since 2009

 

Dr. Kelly has served for the past five years as a member of the Editorial Board of AAOS Now, which is the monthly news magazine published by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. The Board is charged with developing content for the publication and providing editorial critique and oversight. The Editorial Board holds a face to face meeting 2 or 3 times annually, with the most recent meeting being held in Chicago, September 22.

 

Dr. Kelly was invited to attend a recent meeting of the Board of Directors of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons held in Pinehurst, NC, Sept. 13 - 16. The Board is charged with the responsibility of certifying practicing orthopaedic surgeons. During the Board meeting in Pinehurst, Dr. Kelly provided input regarding the current "Maintenance of Certification" initiative that has been instituted by the ABOS.
